 | Rowan Atkinson
- This site is billed as "Your one-stop shopping experience for all information related to Rowan Atkinson's professional life"
- it's quite good. Rowan made me start thinking about being a comedian
when I used to watch "Not The Nine O'clock News" on BBC2 in 1980
aged 7. Maybe I should have just gone to bed at 9pm like other 7 year
olds, and then probably not got quite so disillusioned working in an
office. But watching NTNON was like a family ritual. Rowan
also used to have a stutter.
|
 | Bruce Willis -
Surely one of the coolest guys on the planet? Not really a stand-up
comedian, but a great, very likeable actor, singer and musician, so close
enough, and he use to have a stutter too! Check out Bruce's
journal musings on his website: "I remain, your pal, bw"
Cool.
|
 | Daniel Kitson
- Daniel Kitson is just brilliant. Probably the best comedian in this
country at the moment and very inspirational to see him perform. And yes, he
does have a stutter.
|
 | Jimmy Carr - "One of the most original and distinctive new
stars on television". "Witty, surprising, different."
"Perfectly timed one-liners."
|
 |
Spencer Brown -
Spencer Brown is simply a great act, now moving into the glamourous world
of TV, and represented by the brilliant PBJ
Managment. www.yourealreadydead.com - this is kind of a comedy/performance art website, set up by Spencer Brown and Buddy for their challenging "alternative alternative" comedy.
|
 | Nina
Conti - A great act
with a nice monkey, and had a recent real monkeyish product of her own with
help from my friend Stan Stanley (who's also very funny).
|
 | Steve Day
- A great comedian and good friend, even though Steve has to lip read what I
say because he is deaf, so we can't really communicate very well. We
therefore communicate by the use of paper and a pen and e-mail.
|
 | Gary
Delaney - cleverly written material and a great
style.
|
 | Paul
Kerensa - another great act.
|
 | Marek Larwood
- a funny, funny, funny, guy!
|
 | Howard Read
- See him now before he's on your television.
|
 | Jay Sodagar- A nice guy and great compere. But life is hard
sometimes, Jay!
|
 | Jon
Torrens - yet another very
enjoyable comedian.
|
 | Matt Watts - a
very nice guy and yes very funny.
|
 | Mike
Belgrave - Mike has asked me to put something insulting about him
here but unfortunately it's just not possible!
|
 | Danny James -
Very funny man. Check him out at Edinburgh 2005 - Radio Blah Blah - Live broadcast from 9.30 - 10.30pm in the
Holyrood Tavern.
|
 | Jason
Harley - a nice
guy from Liverpool and an enjoyable act, just got back from his world tour.
|
 | Claire Campbell- Very nice and talented
comedienne. We could be related somehow. But probably
not.
|
 | Hils Barker -
Catch her on Radio 4 - probably right now. Tune in. Far too
clever and talented for me to mention her on my silly website. But I
did.
|
 | Sarah Kendall - whilst on the subject of talent, see aussie Sarah Kendall.
|
 |
Rainer Hersch
- Rainer Hersch is a brilliant comedian and musician who performs around the world – in fact “the world’s first classical music hooligan” (The Sun) and “Victor Borge for a new generation” (The Times). His web site is updated regularly and full of information about him, his solo shows and his own madcap mini-orchestra.
